As Arete dissipates into water, she tells Azura how proud she is of her. Arete apologizes to Azura for leaving her alone, though Azura responds that, with the other royals around, she never felt alone. Corrin urges her to reconcile with her mother. Corrin and the army then battle Arete once more.Īs Arete lays dying, she begins to remember Azura as her daughter, to the surprise of Azura herself. When Azura refuses to back down, Arete hints at having "a friend of theirs". As they move forward, Arete appears in front of them, threatening to kill them. Corrin thanks Ryoma for warning them of this. Ryoma remarks that he hadn't spoken out about it since Corrin wanted everyone to build a sense of trust with each other. Gunter also reiterates that Corrin stated they were attacked as they fell. Corrin asks if a Vallite soldier killed her, but Ryoma tells them that her killer must be a spy within their ranks, given that their group were the only people to jump down the canyon. Ryoma responds that he was thinking of Scarlet, and how they still do not yet know who killed her. Corrin notices that Ryoma appears distraught, and asks him what he's thinking of.
